Matilda was born on Aug. 25, 1932, in Greenwich, Connecticut, and passed away in Vienna, Virginia on Oct. 16 2026, at the age of 94. Residing most recently in her longtime home in Lake Lincolndale, New York, she was predeceased by her husband, Fiore Joseph Sposato Jr., her beloved sons Fiore Joseph Sposato III and Dennis Sposato, and her granddaughter Amy Lynn. She is survived by her loving daughter, Patricia Jordan and her husband Stephen, her dear son, Gregg Sposato and his wife Nancy, her sisters Helen Delago and Lucy Hudock, nine grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.

Tillie was the beloved rock and cornerstone of her family. Through hardship and prosperity, she held her family close and kept everything together with remarkable strength, courage, grace, and love. Life dealt her many obstacles, and through it all she remained a steady source of comfort and support for her family and all who knew her. She listened without judgment and could always be counted on to provide wise counsel to those who sought it.

Tillie enjoyed bowling for many years, often traveling across the country for tournaments with her friends and teammates. She was a steady supporter of her local senior center, an avid dancer, and played a major role setting up dances, luncheons, and providing transportation to those who needed it.

Her home was always open, her kitchen always warm, and there was invariably a home-cooked Italian meal on the table—a table that was privy to a lifetime of conversations, laughter, tears, family bonding, friendship, and enduring love. Shared traditions and cherished memories from that table will remain in our hearts forever.
