Lawler kept his promise on SALT

Posted

Dear Editor,

I am writing to commend Congressman Mike Lawler for his dedication and successes during his tenure in office.

As a representative of our communities, Congressman Lawler has consistently demonstrated his commitment to addressing the needs and concerns of his constituents.

In particular, I would like to highlight his role in delivering the largest tax cut in American history. As promised, Congressman Lawler raised the SALT deduction cap from $10,000 to $40,000, putting thousands of dollars back into the pockets of hardworking American families. This is a significant relief that many have already noticed when they filed their tax returns.

Congressman Lawler's responsiveness to the needs of his constituents makes him an outstanding leader worthy of our support.

As we approach the general election, it’s clear that his opponent, whichever Democrat emerges from the primary this June, will likely seek to increase taxes and prioritize the needs of multiple-offense criminal illegal immigrants over those of American citizens. These views do not address the needs of our communities and will burden our families rather than support them.

The less fortunate who have come to this great country should indeed have the opportunity of becoming American citizens just as our great grandparents may have done. This should be done through a proper vetting process and background investigation to make sure these individuals will be a positive influence on our society. And it is the American citizen, whether born here or naturalized, and not the undocumented, who should have their God-given right to cast a vote. Congressman Lawler is an advocate of the Save America Act, and if passed, this bill will require individuals to provide documentary proof of U.S. citizenship when registering to vote, and requires photo identification to vote in federal elections.

I mean, common sense, right?

This coming November, be sure to vote for Mike Lawler for U.S. Representative in New York’s 17th Congressional District!
