John Keating, 77, of Croton Falls, NY died on Sunday, August 31 at Northern Westchester Hospital.

John was born on March 18, 1948 in Yonkers, NY, to the late Isabel and Raymond Keating. He graduated from Archbishop Stepinac High School in White Plains, NY. John was a U.S. Army veteran.  He was inducted in the U.S. Army in 1969, served in Vietnam and received decorations and medals including: National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Combat Infantry Badge and Good Conduct Medal.

Upon return to the States, John attended Pace University.  He initially worked as a photographer for Guidance Associates in Pleasantville, NY traveling across the U.S. taking photos for school filmstrips and slide shows. He later became a corporate photographer for media and special events at Pepsico in Purchase, NY. John continued his love of photography into semi-retirement and most recently worked for Legacy Studios, photographing school sports and events.

John had great love for his family and especially enjoyed our annual Scarborough Beach, Rhode Island trip. It was there that his parents and all his six brothers and sisters and their families converged on one or two houses and enjoyed the week together on the ocean.  John was an avid bicycle rider and was once on a bike racing team in his younger years.  He enjoyed annual bike trips with his like-minded buddies biking from Inn to Inn on a week- long trip. Most recently he took bike rides on local bike paths several times per week.

John is the beloved husband of 46 years to Helene and is the loving father of son, Michael.  John was the oldest of seven children and is survived by his six cherished siblings, their wives, husbands, children and grandchildren: Bob (Regina), Ron (Nora), Bill (Sofia), Diane (Paul), Ralph (Pam) and MaryBeth. He also adored his nieces and nephews and their children.

The family will receive friends at the Clark Associates Funeral Home in Katonah, NY on Saturday, September 6, from 2 to 6 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held at 4 p.m. in John’s honor with Reverend Dr. Mark Salmon officiating and will include Military Funeral Honors.
