Though time has passed, she lives in our hearts still .

Loretta was born of Italian ancestry in Bronx, New York in 1930. Her life was shaped by her fierce independence and limitless creativity. An artist at heart, Loretta expressed herself through beauty in many ways including meal preparation, decorating, tailoring, gardening, painting and ceramics. She had a sharp mind for mahjong, a skilled hand in knitting and crochet, and a competitive streak in bowling. Each endeavor was an extension of her lively spirit.

Loretta enjoyed a long and rewarding career as Department Manager at Bloomingdale’s, White Plains, where she managed a 5 million dollar business in handbags and accessories. Her impeccable taste, attention to detail and dedication to a job well done, left a lasting impression on colleagues and customers alike. Her unique flair for fashion made her beloved and respected storewide.

A long-time residence of Heritage Hills, Somers, New York, Loretta was known for her grace, elegance, and unmistakable sense of style. While at Heritage, she served as a board member of Condo #27, negotiating variances for residents. As a social chair she organized memorable holiday events.  An active member of many clubs she exhibited her paintings and stunning ceramic bowls annually at the Heritage Hills Art Show.

Loretta was predeceased by her beloved husband of 46 years, Edward Normandia. She is survived by her devoted daughters, Susan N. Johanson and Christine Lundquist, her cherished grandchildren, Gustav Lundquist and Brook Woerner, and her loving sisters, Rose Vietro and Janet Gallo.

A Celebration of Life was held for close family and friends at Le Fontane, Katonah on July 13, 2025.

Although more than a year has passed since her death, her presence remains deeply felt. We continue to be guided by the lessons she taught us. Her memory remains a blessing and inspiration to all who knew her. Loretta is deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever celebrated.

As she wished, her ashes were scattered in the mountains of Colorado on June 28, 2026 . Her final request: “Put me in the wind!”
