Somers' Sheldon named National Merit Semifinalist

SOMERS, N.Y. - Connor Sheldon has been named a Semifinalist in the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Competition, earning recognition among the nation’s highest-achieving high school students.

More than 1.3 million students entered the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program based on their performance on the 2025 PSAT/NMSQT. Of those, more than 16,000 were selected as Semifinalists nationwide, representing less than 1% of high school seniors in each state.

Sheldon will now have the opportunity to complete the National Merit Scholarship application process and compete for Finalist standing. Approximately 6,700 National Merit Scholarships are expected to be awarded in 2027.
