SOMERS, N.Y. - A Mahopac man was hospitalized with serious injuries following a two-car crash in Somers on Wednesday, May 13, state police reported.
The crash occurred at approximately 6 p.m. in Somers.
According to police, the 78-year-old driver was headed east on Granite Springs Road when he attempted to turn left onto Route 118.
His 2011 Dodge then collided with a southbound 2024 Subaru driven by a 29-year-old resident of Baldwin Place, police said.
The preliminary investigation determined the Mahopac motorist had failed to stop and yield the right of way, police said.
He was transported to an area hospital with what appeared to be serious injuries. The driver from Baldwin Place was also taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
