SOMERS, N.Y. - With a possible nor’easter expected to hit the tristate area this weekend, the Somers Chamber of Commerce announced Thursday that they would be canceling the annual Celebrate Somers festivities scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 26.
"After a lot of consideration, we have decided to cancel Celebrate Somers due to the forecasted rain and anticipated high winds," the Chamber told The Somers Record. "Out of an abundance of caution and safety concerns for vendors, attendees and the community, we believe this is the most responsible decision."
The Chamber of Commerce are currently exploring alternate dates for the event, possibly in the spring of next year.
