Sarno continues civic engagement as North Salem Republican Town Committee intern

NORTH SALEM, N.Y. - The North Salem Republican Town Committee is proud to spotlight Marcus Sarno, who has returned this summer as our intern.

A past graduate of North Salem High School, and a dedicated student at Norwich University, Marcus is a senior majoring in Political Science at the nation’s oldest senior military college. His focus on national security and public service reflects the values our committee works to promote in the next generation of leaders.

Marcus has developed a strong foundation in local government and civic engagement through hands-on experience, including internships with the Mayor’s Office in New Meadows, ID, involvement with the Putnam County Young Republican Club, Putnam County Firearms Owners Association, and the Putnam County Republican Women’s Club, a chapter of the New York State Federation of Republican Women which also accepts men as members.

His work has included launching youth outreach efforts, improving public transportation initiatives, and contributing to community research projects, all of which have deepened his understanding of how responsive local government can strengthen neighborhoods and public trust.

His passion for service extends beyond our borders. Marcus has taken part in meaningful volunteer projects across the United States and internationally in Africa, Central and South America, Europe, Mexico, and Canada. These experiences have broadened his perspective and affirmed his belief in the importance of civic duty, service, and leadership at all levels.

In addition to his government and volunteer work, Marcus has supported environmental and wildlife research through partnerships with faculty at Hofstra and Pace Universities, and has continued to serve veterans locally through organizations in Brewster.

We’re also proud to share that Marcus will be continuing his academic journey after graduation by pursuing a master’s degree at Pace University next year.

Marcus Sarno exemplifies the values of leadership, patriotism, and purpose-driven service. We’re honored to have him as part of our team this summer and look forward to all he will accomplish in the years to come.
