NORTH SALEM, N.Y. - The North Salem Lions Club is pleased to announce that four local graduates are receiving Community Service Awards in 2026. Receiving the recognition this year were North Salem High School graduates Abaigeal Cassidy, Sean Canellos, and Gabriella Nicoletti, and John F. Kennedy Catholic Preparatory High School graduate Matthew Bisaillon.
The Lions are very proud of these young people for their accomplishments, and wish them a happy future. Learning through volunteering is an important part of a young person’s education, and the community certainly appreciates the efforts of our young people on their behalf.
The North Salem Lions established the Community Service Award to express recognition of a North Salem school district graduating senior, who exemplifies the club’s motto of “We Serve.” This award is not based on academic standing but is judged on what students gave of themselves as volunteers in the community. One of the awards was named in memory of North Salem graduate Zack Bassin.
These substantial monetary awards were allocated and presented at the students’ respective graduations.
The North Salem Lions Club will continue to find ways to serve our community. That is what Lions do. For further information or if you would like to become a member, please call 914-384-5346.
