NORTH SALEM, N.Y. - North Salem softball is set to kick off the season with a balanced roster of returning veterans and newcomers looking to make their mark on the diamond.
Leading the Tigers this spring will be seniors Ana Brewster (CF) and Chloe Matt (P) and juniors Sophia Aqeel (1B) and Cora Kennedy (SS).
Kennedy and Aqeel earned All-Section honorable mentions last season, and will serve as captains alongside Matt.
Rounding out the lineup will be a crop of new faces, including senior Avery Schoenberg (3B), juniors Marissa Ferrara (2B), Cianna Cioce (LF), Sarah Laino (OF), and Brianna Mulero (OF), sophomores Erika Saez (RF) and Sadie Matt (OF), and 8th grader Kathryn Ocdenaria (C).
“We’re preparing for a tough non-league schedule, and will be ready to battle in a very tough league,” said Coach Tim Collins.
The Tigers are scheduled to kick off the season at home on Tuesday, April 1, against Tuckahoe at 4:30 p.m.
