North Salem Soccer Trounces Tuckahoe to Repeat as Section Champs

NORTH SALEM, N.Y. - When North Salem’s boys soccer team stepped onto the field against Tuckahoe, only one Tiger squad could walk away with the section title.

For the second straight year, Coach Ron Hendrie’s team would not be denied, posting a dominant 6-0 victory on Saturday, Nov. 2.

Deciding the sectional crown at Lakeland High School, North Salem kicked the offense into high gear from the opening whistle, taking a 4-0 advantage into the half.

And the Tigers never looked back.

Displaying the balanced scoring attack that has seen so much success this season, Ryan Vorfi (2 goals, 1 assist), Nick Naber (1 goal,  1 assist), Sean Randall (1 goal, 1 assist), Juben Lazri (1 goal), John Gogo (1 goal), Liam Keegan (1 assist), and Max Cotrone (1 assist) all got in on the action to start the celebration.

The win now sets up a subregional matchup against Section 9 champion Rhinebeck at Franklin D. Roosevelt High School on Wednesday, Nov. 6, at 4:30 p.m.
