NORTH SALEM, N.Y. - Freyja Smith is continuing to make her mark for the Tigers.
Riding the momentum of an already spectacular spring, the junior recently had a standout showing at the County Championship meet on May 16.
Smith took her talents to Hendrick Hudson High School and claimed first place in the discus, making her the first Tiger in North Salem High School history to accomplish the feat.
Smith also finished the day with a second place showing in javelin, while teammate Jennifer Killeen had a strong showing with a third place finish in discus.
“Freyja had an outstanding weekend,” said Coach Chris Gould. “Her and Jennifer placing first and third in discus is remarkable. It's a credit to all those who qualified with so much talent in the county.”
The Tigers will now head to the Section 1 Class C meet on Friday, May 29, at Pawling High School.
