North Salem Lions announce Community Service Award winners

NORTH SALEM, N.Y. - The North Salem Lions Club is pleased to announce that several local students have received Community Service Awards in 2025.

Honored with this year’s awards were recent North Salem High School graduates Christopher Tarrant, George Naber, Lauren Smushko, Nicholas Naber, Nicky Berganza and Ruby Molina, alongside Liam Smith (Archbishop Stepinac High School) and Kaicee Keeley (John Jay High School).

The Lions are very proud of these young people for their accomplishments, and wish them a happy future.  Learning through volunteering is an important part of a young person’s education, and the community certainly appreciates the efforts of our young people on the club’s behalf.

The North Salem Lions established the Community Service Award to express recognition of graduating seniors from the North Salem Central School District who exemplify the club’s motto: “We Serve.” This award is not based on academic standing but is judged on what you give of yourself as a volunteer in the community. One of the awards was named in memory of Zack Bassin, a North Salem graduate.

These substantial monetary awards were allocated and presented at the recipient’s respective graduations.

The North Salem Lions Club is always looking for ways to serve their community. For more information, including membership opportunities, call 914-669-9843.
