The Tigers showed out when they hosted the league championship meet on Oct. 10, with all five members logging impressive times in the 5K. Leading the charge was junior Marissa Ferrara who finished in 4th place, with Freyja Smith (6th), Emma Gautier (9th), Erika Saez (15th) and Veronica Benevuto (19th) all having strong performances to bring the title back to North Salem. All five would also earn All League honors.
“The girls were up against strong competition from Haldane, Putnam Valley, Pawling and Croton, and they executed our race strategy perfectly,” said Coach Chris Gould.
On the boys side, the squad managed a 5th place finish behind a good showing by senior Jack Fryer (6th), Drew Karam (10th), and Skyler Smith (21st), with all three earning All League nods.
