North Salem readies for Christmas Eve celebration

Posted

NORTH SALEM, N.Y. - Christmas Eve celebrations in North Salem will kick off at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 24, with a bonfire, caroling, hot cocoa and cider, homemade treats, and Santa!

The gathering will be at the town’s Christmas tree on Titicus Road, just east of Baxter Road.

Folks are asked to carpool if possible and not to park in the Union Hall lot.

The annual event was put together by the North Salem Historical Society with the help of the town’s highway department, police, fire department, and members of the former North Salem Improvement Society.

Twenty local organizations decorated live, Alberta spruces that had been loaned out by Hardscrabble Farm. Once the event is over, the trees will be returned to the farm so they can be planted.
