NORTH SALEM, N.Y. - Under new Coach Vin Savastano, the Tigers are bringing back a seasoned lineup of upperclassmen.
Bolstering North Salem’s offense will be senior attackers Dillon Coughlan, Justin Major, and George Naber. Senior John Gogo, junior Max Cotrone, and freshman Drew Karam will represent the Tigers at midfield.
The squad will also look to seniors Malachi Andrews and Nick Naber on defense, with keeper Michael Bonelli anchoring things in goal.
Newcomers to watch include seniors Jack Fryer and Ryan Vorfi, and freshman Nico Rouse.
Looking to the season ahead, Coach Savastano also hopes to channel the success of another Tiger squad. Cotrone, Coughlan, Gogo, Major, Naber, and Vorfi were all part of North Salem’s state championship soccer team last fall.
“Ron Hendrie is a great coach and I respect what he has done and hope I can eventually follow his success,” Savastano added.
As the season begins, Savastano will be supported by assistant coaches Scott Berniker and Mike Perlett. Berniker had previously played under Savastano at Hendrick Hudson in 1990, before continuing his playing career at Eastern Connecticut State University. Perlett is a graduate of Brewster High School and a physical education teacher.
