NORTH SALEM, N.Y. - After opening 2025 with a big win against Valhalla, the Tigers endured a tough stretch that saw the squad drop four straight. One of those losses came courtesy of Pawling in the opening round of the North Salem Booster Club Tournament earlier this month.
With payback on their minds, the team was on the road for a Tiger tussle at Pawling High School on Jan. 21.
North Salem controlled the pace throughout, playing tough in the paint and making their presence felt from the opening tip off. After carrying a 24-12 lead into the half, the Tigers didn’t look back and returned to the win column with a decisive 54-37 victory.
Junior Max Cotrone led the charge with 12 points and 10 defensive rebounds, with sophomore Lucas Virzi and junior Jameson Juan each chipping in 10 points. Junior Connor Meehan added 9 points and senior Justin Major had 8 points and 9 rebounds.
The Tigers are scheduled to face Putnam Valley on the road on Thursday, Jan. 23 at 7 p.m.
