North Salem's Nemeth caps off season at state tournament

NORTH SALEM, N.Y. - James Nemeth was the last Tiger standing, taking his talents to Rochester’s Mill Creek Golf Club on June 7.

The junior capped off a solid season by finishing 59th in the state.

Nemeth was forced to fight for the finish after finding a hazard in the first round to end the day with a +7 84 and contending with difficult pin placements and greens in the second round. He would finish the weekend +13, carding an 84 for the final round of the season.

“Even though the weekend was not what James wanted, I am incredibly proud of the accomplishments throughout his season,” said Coach Chris Brandt. “The fact that he was able to make it all the way to the state tournament shows a lot about him. I know he is going to continue to work on his game and hopefully revisit Rochester next year with hopes of more success in the future."
