Local law enforcement is enough for North Salem

I read with interest the two letters in the Feb. 26 issue of North Salem News replying to Councilwoman Katherine Daniels' letter that federal agents are not welcome in North Salem.

It is hard to understand why these two authors, or indeed anyone, would want ICE agents anywhere near our town when our local and state police force are doing an excellent job of apprehending criminals, and bringing them to justice. When I looked up the cases mentioned, I found that several of the accused and convicted men were not undocumented aliens, and the crimes date from 2005 to 2025.

I do not want our community to be terrorized as Minneapolis was.
