Dear Editor,
The North Salem Republican Town Committee is proud to recognize and thank Ward Hanaburgh for his many years of dedicated service as our Town Superintendent of Highways. Ward has been a steady, reliable leader, ensuring our roads and infrastructure were maintained with the highest level of care and professionalism. Throughout his long tenure, he worked tirelessly through storms, emergencies and everyday challenges to keep North Salem moving safely. For his many years of service, he has always enjoyed our full support and endorsement.
With Ward’s retirement ahead, we are confident that his legacy of excellence will continue with James “Bo” DePaoli, our current Deputy Superintendent of Highways. Bo has worked side by side with Ward for 16 years as his deputy, gaining and possessing the hands-on experience necessary to understand every aspect of the job and doing it well. In addition to his highway department role, Bo also serves as a part-time police officer in town, showing his deep commitment to public safety and service.
Bo has proven himself hardworking, dependable and community-minded. His combined background in highway operations and law enforcement brings a unique perspective that will serve North Salem well. Just as Ward’s leadership built trust over decades, Bo is prepared to carry that torch forward with dedication and responsibility.
We thank Ward Hanaburgh for his years of service, and we strongly endorse James “Bo” DePaoli for Highway Superintendent. He has the experience, character and proven dedication to continue the work that keeps North Salem strong.
-The North Salem Republican Town Committee
