Local GOP endorses Lawler, points to SALT relief

The North Salem Republican Town Committee proudly and unequivocally endorses Congressman Mike Lawler for re-election.

At a time when many elected officials speak in broad terms, Congressman Lawler has delivered real, measurable results for the communities he represents, including towns like North Salem.

This tax season, residents are seeing meaningful relief as the SALT cap has been increased from $10,000 to as much as $40,000. Congressman Lawler was a leading voice in driving that change, at the forefront of the effort to deliver progress on an issue that directly impacts homeowners across our region.

For years, SALT relief was discussed, but it was not effectively advocated for New York in Washington by our prior congressional representative. Congressman Lawler helped change that, making SALT relief a top priority from day one and ensuring our district finally had a strong voice fighting for us.

He has supported efforts to strengthen public safety, stand with law enforcement, and push back against policies that undermine local communities. At the same time, he has backed investments in infrastructure and environmental priorities across the Hudson Valley, issues that are essential to protecting the character and long-term sustainability of towns like North Salem.

Residents have seen Congressman Mike Lawler’s leadership firsthand — standing alongside our town leadership, engaging directly with communities across NY-17, and ensuring that even smaller towns like ours are not overlooked.

North Salem is a small town, but our concerns are not small. We expect to be represented, and Congressman Lawler has shown that we are.
