Local Firefighters Battle Two-Alarm Blaze in North Salem

NORTH SALEM, N.Y. - Members of the Croton Falls Fire Department and numerous other companies were on the move on Oct. 29, rushing to the scene of a two-alarm house fire at a home on Nash Road.

With reports of a fire in the residence’s laundry room, the North Salem PD were first on the scene, quickly followed by Ladder 67. Due to heavy fire, a second alarm was transmitted and crews were able to make entry with hose lines to extinguish the blaze.

As crews operated inside the structure, one of the firefighters fell through the floor before being located and safely removed.

Assisting at the scene were personnel from the Bedford Hills, Brewster, Carmel, Katonah, Mahopac, Mill Plain, Ridgefield, Somers, South Salem, Vista, and Yorktown fire departments.

Units operated at the scene for four hours.
