Dear Editor:
As a member of the North Salem Town Board, I have a keen appreciation for the importance of the office of the Tax Receiver. We have been blessed with an excellent Tax Receiver for the past 30 years, Karen Roach. As Karen retires at the end of this year, she leaves some very large shoes to fill.
In my view, the best candidate to fill Karen’s shoes is Karol Deluce. Karol has lived in the Peach Lake area for over 25 years. She raised her daughter here and her grand-daughters both now attend North Salem Middle School. Karol has a BS degree in accounting and finance from the College of New Rochelle and over 35 years of experience in supply chain materials, operations and office management. These credentials make her well suited to step into the role of Tax Receiver.
Karol is trust-worthy. She promises to have flexible hours and be readily accessible. She is a strong believer in transparency and will stay abreast of the latest tax legislation to protect homeowners. Perhaps most importantly, Karol can interact with other professional tax and finance officials to deliver the highest quality services to the residents of North Salem.
Karol has been endorsed in these pages and elsewhere by the North Salem Democratic Committee and by numerous town residents. I am proud to add my name to the growing list of supporters for Karol Deluce and I urge you to vote for her on or before Nov. 4, 2025. Early voting starts on Oct. 25 through Nov. 2.
