June Stapleton Cory Yozzo, of Somers, New York, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2026, at the age of 80, surrounded by her loving family after a long battle with dementia.
June was born on October 9, 1945, in South Salem, New York to her loving Parents, June Stapleton Cory and Robert Cory. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 50 years, Frank A. Yozzo; her parents; and her older brother, Robert Cory.
On October 20, 1973, June married the love of her life, Frank. Together they built a life centered on family, love, and hard work. They raised two daughters, Alexis Cambareri (and her husband, Fortunato, of Mount Kisco), and Ashley Yozzo (of North Salem).She was a proud grandmother to Antonio, Frank, and Carmela, who brought her so much joy.
A graduate of John Jay High School, June earned her Registered Nurse degree from the Binghamton State Hospital School of Nursing. She devoted her life to caring for others, spending more than 30 years at Northern Westchester Hospital, where she helped establish both the Ambulatory Surgery Center and the Pre-Admission Testing Unit. While working full-time and raising her family, she earned her Master’s degree and became a Nurse Practitioner through Pace University. She later served as a Medical Contract Monitor for the Westchester County Department of Correction until her retirement in 2013.
June’s caring heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering compassion touched the lives of countless patients, colleagues, friends, and family members throughout her life.
June found joy in nature and life’s simple pleasures. She loved animals, especially her dogs, enjoyed watching the birds, listening to thunderstorms, and capturing memories through photography. Above all, she cherished time spent with Frank, her family, and the many dear friends they made throughout their lives.
June will be remembered for her kindness, quiet strength, and devotion to her family. While her family will miss her deeply, they find comfort knowing she has been reunited with her beloved husband, Frank.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers and staff at The Bristal in Armonk for the kindness, compassion, and loving care they provided to June.
A Funeral Mass was held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Mount Kisco, New York.
