NORTH SALEM, N.Y. - North Salem’s boys soccer team continued to roll as they hosted Pawling for a Tiger tussle on Oct. 9.

The squad took a commanding 5-1 lead into the half and walked away with a decisive 6-2 win.

The victory was all the sweeter as it marked the 400th career win for longtime coach Ron Hendrie.

Hendrie has been at the helm of Tigers soccer for more than 30 years, capturing four regional championships, seven sectional titles, and 17 league championships.

Under Coach Hendrie, the Tigers also brought a pair of state titles to North Salem in 1993 and 2016.

“I couldn't have done it without all of the amazing players I've been gifted over the years from my incredible JV coach Mike Valenti and the youth soccer program, as well as the support of our school and athletic department,” said Hendrie.

The coach also credited his success to the support he receives on the homefront.

“I absolutely need to include the unwavering support from my beautiful wife and family,” Hendrie added.

The Tigers brought out the heavy artillery to take the milestone win, with Liam Keegan (1 goal, 1 assist), Nick Naber (1 goal, 1 assist), Ryan Vorfi (1 goal), Nico Maya (1 goal), June Lazri (1 goal), Sean Randall (1 goal), Justin Major (1 assist), Jack Newman (1 assist), and Connor Meehan (1 assist) getting in to the action. George Naber had 5 saves in goal.

The victory brought North Salem’s record to 8-2-2 on the season.
