North Salem's Hammond Museum to offer unique slate of June events

NORTH SALEM, N.Y. - The Hammond Museum & Japanese Stroll Garden is preparing to offer several unique events in the coming weeks.

Silk Screen Demonstration

To be held from 2 to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 13. Held in conjunction with the current exhibition, “Threads of Connection: Traditional Forms, Contemporary Stories.” Jane Wilson-Marquis. in collaboration with artist, Linda Mason, will demonstrate her signature silk-screening process. Free with museum admission.

Chess Tournament

To be held from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 14. The Hammond Museum revives their grand tradition of Chess Tournaments! Bring your chess set if you have one, and come for an exciting day of competitive fun. Players of all levels and ages are welcome. $15 per person, $8 for students. Registration required by June 7. 

Afternoon of Art

To be held on Saturday, June 27, free with museum admission.

At 3 p.m., "Creating Threads of Connection" will see exhibiting artists Mohamed Yakub and Jane Wilson-Marquis discuss the artistic processes, sources of inspiration, and ideas embodied in their innovative current exhibition of unique garments.

At 4:30 p.m. the "ENOUGH" and "Tea Hut Art: Mother Trees by Lisa Breznak" exhibitions will open, and artists featured in these two thought-provoking displays will discuss their work.
