Dolores Dorothy Brady Morgenthaler, affectionately known as “Dolly” passed away peacefully at the age of 91 on December 4, 2025. She is survived by her four children, Diane Morgenthaler of Old Lyme CT, Daniel Morgenthaler of Kent, CT, Richard C. Morgenthaler of Patterson, NY and Darren Morgenthaler of Key West, FL. Dolores is also survived by 5 grandchildren Dana, Daniel, Tyler, Nicholas & Richard. Dolores married the love of her life Richard A. Morgenthaler April 28, 1957 at St. Aloysius church in Brooklyn, NY. Richard, a retired NYC Firefighter & Fire Marshal passed away Oct 26, 2008. Richard & Dolores were married 51 years.

Also known as the “Crafty Lady”, Dolores was an accomplished seamstress who performed in and created costumes for local theater productions. For many years she owned and operated “Craftique”, an Arts & Crafts store located in Danbury, CT. She also worked as Activities Director at Interweave in Danbury, CT and loved entertaining seniors. During the Holidays she would don a Mrs. Clause costume and sing Christmas carols. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother for many years and was active at Sacred Heart Church in Patterson, NY as a Catholic Daughter.

Originally from Brooklyn, NY, Dolores will be remembered for her “Ridgewood-isms”. It wasn’t oil it was “erl”, a wedding gown was “a gowned”, and food didn’t spoil it “got sperlt”.

A graveside prayer will be held at St. Lawrence O’Toole Cemetery, in Brewster, NY on Saturday, December 20, at 11 a.m.
