Councilman cites DeLuce’s qualifications, Roach’s endorsement

I am writing this letter in support of the candidacy of Karol DeLuce for the position of Tax Receiver of North Salem.

I am a Town Councilman. I see first-hand the work that is done by the Tax Receiver’s Office. It is critical for the financial well-being of the Town that this work be performed in a competent and professional manner.

Karol DeLuce has precisely the right background and experience in accounting and financial management to perform this work in a competent and professional manner. She has unique experience managing financial operations and resolving complex financial and operational issues. Come Jan. 1, 2026, when the new term of office begins for the new Tax Receiver, we need Karol DeLuce to be running the Tax Receiver’s Office.

Our retiring Tax Receiver, Karen Roach, has set the bar high. Her performance in this position has earned the respect and admiration of everyone in town, cutting across partisan lines. It is significant that Karen has endorsed Karol DeLuce to be her successor, to continue the fine work of the Tax Receiver’s Office.

I put great weight in this endorsement. So should the voters of North Salem.
