Carl Kropelnicki, 68, of North Salem NY, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2026 surrounded by his loving family.
Carl was born on June 22, 1957 in Bronx, NY to Joseph and Catherine Kropelnicki (both predeceased). He grew up in The Bronx on the corner of Strang Ave and Pratt Ave where he made his lifelong friends. He attended Mount Saint Michael Academy. He loved telling stories about “the old days”. As a child, Carl and his family took frequent Sunday drives to Merrick, NY to visit his Aunt Louise and Uncle William Rubenstahl. Carl was also the nephew of Stephen Kropelnicki, Lotti Skoba (Charles) Fred “Fritz” Pfisterer, (all predeceased).
In 1988, Carl and his parents moved to North Salem, NY and built their forever home on a new piece of land. With the help of his brother Kenny, they managed and completed most of the construction themselves. Carl was a dedicated employee at IBM and later Phelps Memorial Hospital where he was a skilled maintenance/mechanical engineer. His passions included old movies, antiques, photography, cooking, hiking, building and carpentry. Carl was often gathered around a billiard table “shooting pool” with his friends and family.
He is survived by is brother Kenneth Kropelnicki (Jeani Beggeman) of Mahopac, NY, sister Laura MacGregor (William MacGregor) of Brewster, NY, his cousins Carol Treutlein and Barbara Schneider (Michael), his niece and nephews William MacGregor (Stephanie), Cynthia Fox (Robert), Jesse Kropelnicki (Christine), Eric MacGregor (Adriana), and his adoring great nieces and nephews William MacGregor Jr, Isabella Alvarez, Christian Fox, Colin Kropelnicki, Serena Fox, Stella Kropelnicki, Eric James MacGregor, Ethan MacGregor, Conor MacGregor, Zachary Fox, Piper MacGregor, Dylan MacGregor, and Mia MacGregor.
The family requests no flowers.
Instead, in lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Friends of Karen in memory of Carl Kropelnicki.
