Peter Joseph O'Neill, Jr. of Cortlandt Manor, NY, passed away on December 4, 2025, at the age of 77.

Peter was born on February 24, 1948 in Yonkers, New York. He was the son of the late Peter J. O'Neill Sr. and Sarah Coogan O'Neill. He was the second of five children.

Peter, or 'Pete' as he was known to everyone who knew him, graduated from Yonkers High School and soon launched his career as a telecommunications technician with New York Telephone Company, which later became Bell Atlantic and NYNEX, before ultimately retiring from Verizon. He also took some architecture courses at Westchester Community College and got straight A's (which he was very proud of). After retiring from Verizon, Pete later founded Tri-County Communications, a business built on hard work, perseverance, and a belief in doing things the right way.

During a strike in New York City, he met the love of his life, Judy Ramaglia, while they were both on the picket line. They were married on May 18, 1974 and went on to share 51 wonderful years of marriage, raising three beautiful children. In 1978, they moved to Mount Kisco, NY, bringing with them Pete's parents as well as his sister and her family of eight, the Blair Family. Their home in Mount Kisco quickly became a beloved gathering place for family events, holidays, and celebrations; a house filled with laughter, love, and memories that will be cherished for generations.

Pete found great joy in coaching youth sports and took immense pride in helping to establish the Fox Lane Sports Club in Bedford, NY, with the support of his wife, Judy. Together, their dedication created a lasting legacy that has impacted countless young athletes and their families.

Pete treasured his summers at the Jersey Shore reading a good book on the beach and spending time with his family. His nephew Eric (Heather) Rinaldi and their family were often by his side, as well as many others throughout the years.

Pete was known for his tough personality and was never afraid to share his thoughts or emotions - sometimes loudly, always honestly. He offered advice on just about everything, whether you were asking for it or not. Beneath that tough exterior, Pete was the heart of a large and loving family. He was the energy and the glue that brought people together and kept them together across three generations. Dozens and dozens of relatives, friends, neighbors, kids he coached, and people who simply crossed his path were shaped by his presence, his humor, and his fierce loyalty.

He was a devoted husband, father, uncle, and the proud Poppy of six grandchildren, Jayda, Evan, Lyla, Elizabeth, Jason and Kieran as well as two honorary grandchildren, Ronan and Samantha, who all meant the world to him.

Pete is survived by his wife Judy; his children, Peter and Susan O'Neill of Havertown, PA, Stacy O'Neill and Graham LeFloch of Greenwich, CT, and Lisa and Jason Barrett of Yorktown Heights, NY; six beloved grandchildren; his sisters, Noreen Blair, Pamela (Nicholas) Bisaccia, brother, Richard (Karen) O'Neill; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

He is predeceased by his parents and sister Constance O'Neill. Pete will be remembered for his generous spirit, his protective nature, and his ability to fill a room with laughter, healthy debate, and love. His legacy lives on in the family he built, the community he helped shape, and the countless stories that will be shared for years to come.
