Pat Maria Alexander, 78, passed away Sunday, July 27, 2025 at Westchester Medical Center, Valhalla.
A resident of Patterson, NY, she was born in Dayton, Ohio on March 29, 1947 to Roge and Delight (Durbin) LaBranche. On December 3, 1977 she married David T. Alexander in Sidney, Ohio; he survives at home.
Pat was computer tech for several companies, and later was an office manager for an ophthalmologist in Thornwood, NY.
Pat was a member of St. John’s Church Catholic Daughters Toastmasters Speaking Group, and was the first female member of the NY Numismatic Club, an honor rarely bestowed on a woman. She loved gardening and dogs, especially her two dogs, Peanut, a toy poodle, and Charli, a chihuahua mix. She crocheted hundreds of hats for the homeless and for residents of her son’s work-place. She helped her daughter Christina with her non-profit called Food For Friends that give food and aid to the homeless and less fortunate. And according to her husband, she was also a great cook. Her daughter Christina said that her mom was her “best friend” and they used to get their nails done together every two weeks, it was one of their things they did together. But she really loved giving to charity and helping others.
She is survived by her husband, David, and daughter Christina, and son Robert M. French and wife Mona; her beloved canines, Max, Peanut, and Charli; her best friend and “sister” Beverly Schmid; and her sister Bonnie and brother John.
She is predeceased by her loving son, Christopher, who passed away September 28, 2022.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, August 4, 2025, at St. John’s Church, 39 East Main Street, Pawling, NY.
