MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. - The following is a selection of incidents and calls for service handled by Westchester County Police in Mount Kisco.
Nov. 30: Leonard Park was inspected at 11:47 p.m. An officer on patrol on Carpenter Avenue at 10:05 p.m. observed a vehicle illegally parked in a permit-only space and issued a summons. Another illegally parked vehicle was observed on Maple Avenue at 9:44 p.m., resulting in a summons. At 9:09 p.m., police responded to a report of an activated burglar alarm at a building on South Bedford Road. The premises were found secure and the alarm was deemed accidental. Leonard Park was inspected again at 8:34 p.m. Officers responded to Barker Street at 7:44 p.m. after a man reported someone attempting to force entry into another apartment on his floor. The investigation determined the report was unfounded. Mount Kisco Elementary School on West Hyatt Avenue was inspected at 6:04 p.m. Kirby Plaza and the railroad station area were inspected at 5:43 p.m., and a foot patrol was conducted at Mount Kisco Commons on North Bedford Road at 5:11 p.m. At 12:22 p.m., a man reported that he believed his vehicle had been stolen from the parking lot near Stop & Shop on North Bedford Road, but the vehicle was located upon an officer’s arrival. Kirby Plaza and the railroad station area were inspected at 11:56 a.m., followed by a foot patrol in the 400 block of Main Street at 11:09 a.m. A traffic stop on Moore Avenue at 10:52 a.m. resulted in a summons, as did traffic stops on South Moger Avenue at 9:57 a.m. and Lexington Avenue at 9:50 a.m., where a vehicle was found parked on the sidewalk near Maplewood Drive. At 7:30 a.m., police and the Mount Kisco Fire Department responded to an activated fire alarm at a commercial property on North Bedford Road, which was determined to be accidental. At 5:27 a.m., officers responded to Lexington Avenue for a report of an intoxicated man feeling unwell, and Westchester EMS transported him to the hospital. At 3:22 a.m., an officer found a vehicle stopped in the middle of North Moger Avenue with its left turn signal activated. The driver, a 49-year-old Bedford man, was found slumped over the wheel, failed a field sobriety test, and was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor. His blood alcohol level was determined to be more than three times the legal limit, and he was transported to Northern Westchester Hospital. He is scheduled to appear in Mount Kisco Justice Court on Dec. 4.
Dec. 1: At 10:02 p.m., police responded to Grove Street for a report of an intoxicated man in need of assistance, and EMS transported him to the hospital. A traffic stop on South Moger Avenue at 8:51 p.m. resulted in a summons. Officers responded at 8:31 p.m. to a report of a man refusing to leave a laundromat on Lexington Avenue, and the situation was corrected. Police responded to a 911 hang-up call at ShopRite on North Bedford Road at 7:39 p.m., which was determined to have been dialed in error. At 6:58 p.m., police responded to Oakridge Road for a report of wires down, and the condition was corrected with assistance from the Mount Kisco Fire Department. At 6:35 p.m., a 46-year-old woman was charged with petit larceny after allegedly attempting to fraudulently return $190 in merchandise at Target on North Bedford Road. During booking, she was also charged with false personation. She was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to be arraigned on Dec. 18. Police responded to a burglar alarm at a business on Main Street at 6:19 p.m.; the premises were secure and the alarm malfunctioned. A traffic stop on Kisco Avenue at 6:08 p.m. resulted in a summons. Officers responded to the 100 block of Main Street for a woman experiencing chest pain, and she was transported to the hospital. At 1:13 p.m., police responded to a report of an unattended, idling vehicle in a parking lot on North Bedford Road, and a summons was issued. Traffic stops on North Bedford Road at 11:58 a.m., Lexington Avenue at 11:29 a.m., and South Moger Avenue at 11:13 a.m. each resulted in summonses. Byram Lake was inspected at 10:44 a.m. A property damage auto accident was reported at Main Street and Byram Lake Road at 10:01 a.m., and a report was prepared. A traffic stop on Main Street at 10 a.m. resulted in a warning. Mount Kisco Elementary School was inspected at 9:10 a.m. A property damage accident was reported at North Moger Avenue and Barker Street at 8:13 a.m., and a report was prepared. At 6 a.m., officers responded to Spring Street for a woman feeling lightheaded and nauseous, and she was transported to the hospital. Traffic stops on East Main Street at 2:27 a.m. and Lexington Avenue at 1:42 a.m. resulted in summonses. Kirby Plaza and the railroad station area were inspected at 12:02 a.m.
Dec. 2: Kirby Plaza and the Mount Kisco railroad station were inspected at 11:16 p.m. Officers responded to a burglar alarm at a bank on North Bedford Road at 10:08 p.m., and the premises were found secure. At 9 p.m., officers responded to Gatto Drive for a report of a domestic dispute; the incident was verbal only and a report was prepared. At 8:13 p.m., officers, EMS and the fire department responded to Grove Street for a report of a teenager not breathing. CPR was in progress, the teen was revived and transported to the hospital. At 7:39 p.m., officers responded to Victoria Drive after receiving a fall alert from an iPhone; a resident reported she dropped her phone and was not injured. Police responded at 7:09 p.m. to a report of men drinking inside a laundromat on Lexington Avenue, and the condition was corrected. A foot patrol was conducted in the Blackeby municipal lot at 6:50 p.m., followed by a foot patrol near the railroad station and Kirby Plaza at 5:15 p.m. Leonard Park was inspected at 5:09 p.m. and again at 12:58 p.m. A foot patrol was conducted in the 500 block of East Main Street at 11:12 a.m. Traffic stops on Main Street at 10:34 a.m. and South Moger Avenue at 9:59 a.m. resulted in warnings. Mount Kisco Elementary School was inspected at 9:46 a.m. At 7:45 a.m., officers assisted a man in his 90s who was bleeding on Woodcrest Lane; he was transported to the hospital. A traffic stop at Main Street and Croton Avenue at 2:30 a.m. resulted in a summons. Illegally parked vehicles were ticketed in the 200 block of Main Street at 2:10 a.m. and the 100 block at 2:04 a.m. A traffic stop on North Bedford Road at 1:29 a.m. resulted in a warning. The railroad station, auto dealerships on Kisco Avenue, and Leonard Park were inspected between 1:20 a.m. and 12:26 a.m.
Dec. 3: The DPW yard on Columbus Avenue was inspected at 10:08 p.m. At 7:02 p.m., officers responded to a property damage accident in front of TD Bank on Main Street and prepared a report. At 6:21 p.m., officers assisted a man on Parkview Place suffering from severe abdominal pain, and he was transported to the hospital. A property damage accident was reported at Kisco and Railroad avenues at 5:45 p.m. and a report was prepared. A foot patrol was conducted in Kirby Plaza at 4:25 p.m. At 3:08 p.m., officers responded to Parkview Place for a report of a young child wandering alone near the street. A 3-year-old boy was found outside without a coat in near-freezing temperatures. His mother was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child. Child Protective Services was notified.
Dec. 4: At 9:40 p.m., police responded to a report of a woman injured in a fall in the 100 block of Main Street. Mount Kisco VAC was on scene and transported her to the hospital for evaluation. At 7:52 p.m., police responded to a report of a motorcycle being operated erratically on West Hyatt Avenue, and the condition was corrected. At 7:14 p.m., officers responded to Woodland Street for a complaint of a pickup truck blocking a driveway, which was resolved. Leonard Park was inspected at 6:26 p.m. Mount Kisco Elementary School, the railroad station and Kirby Plaza were inspected between 9:51 a.m. and 9:05 a.m. Officers responded to an activated burglar alarm on North Bedford Road at 7:11 a.m., which was accidental. A noise complaint from Barker Street at 4:29 a.m. was addressed. Police responded to a burglar alarm at a residence on Canterbury Way at 4:48 a.m.; the premises were secure and the alarm activated in error. Illegally parked vehicles on South Moger Avenue at 4:14 a.m. and Lexington Avenue at 3:58 a.m. were ticketed. A traffic stop on Main Street at 3:26 a.m. resulted in a warning. Auto dealerships and houses of worship were inspected between 2:59 a.m. and 1:32 a.m., and Kirby Plaza, the railroad station and Leonard Park were inspected between 1:06 a.m. and 12:35 a.m.
