Mount Kisco Chamber of Commerce readies for Sesquicentennial celebration

MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. - May is a month full of beautiful scenery changes, trees blooming, flowers sprouting, and, generally, lots of activity.

The Village of Mount Kisco is no different from the natural world. In April, we celebrated Earth Day, Opening Day of Little League, and Arbor Day, and then we sprang into May and all that it brings. Mother’s Day is when we honor all mothers, including your own or someone who has meant much to you. Thank you for shopping locally for the perfect gift! The shops in town have gorgeous selections and many services that make for excellent presents.

This year, the Mount Kisco Chamber of Commerce Chamber Honors 2025 celebrates Jane Pieragostini as the Citizen of the Year, Minuteman Press as the Business of the Year, and the Mount Kisco Historical Society as the Organization of the Year. Our Honors Dinner might be in May, but we celebrate them all year, so please congratulate them anytime in 2025.

The Village of Mount Kisco Sesquicentennial of Incorporation is this year. 150 years is a significant milestone to celebrate, and we will celebrate! You’ve seen the banners on the streets and the columns of Village Hall announcing the celebration year. MK150 has been part of many of the activities in the Village so far this year, the largest of which is happening over the weekend of May 31 and June . The family-friendly weekend kicks off on Saturday, May 31, with Opening Ceremonies at 11 a.m. on the steps of Village Hall. Free historical trolley rides, compliments of the MKCC, around the village will follow, with docents from the Mount Kisco Historical Society riding with you, providing a guided tour. Many outstanding organizations will greet you in front of the Village Hall and the Library with information about what they do and why.

This is an opportunity to learn more, donate your time or resources, and get involved! Mount Kisco has an incredible number of dedicated volunteers and diverse organizations from which to choose. Local musicians will round out the afternoon with lively sounds that will carry on the upbeat mood of the celebration.

It’s a fabulous lineup, don’t miss it!

At 4 p.m., the Mount Kisco Recreation Department is hosting a Food Truck Festival fundraiser. Enjoy a delicious selection from various cuisines that will satisfy the whole family. Kids can participate in several fun activities, sponsored by the Mount Kisco Recreation Commission.

Celebration Sunday features a community parade with organizations, schools, bands, and floats creating a festive experience. The starting time is 2 p.m., and the parade will proceed down Main Street to So. Moger. The culmination of the day will be immediately followed by a free BBQ, hosted by the Mount Kisco Lions Club, the Mount Kisco Rotary Club, and the Village. There will also be music and games, some themed around the games of the 1800s, allowing families to get into the spirit of the Sesquicentennial. Many of the shops will have MK150 specials that will be coordinated throughout the weekend. Check our website and Facebook page for more information. www.mtkiscochamber.com.

A commemorative journal with a comprehensive history of Mount Kisco, including beautiful photographs and information, is being published. Please visit mtkisco150.com for more details about the Sesquicentennial.

Mount Kisco Chamber of Commerce commends the Village, the Mount Kisco Historical Society, and the many, many volunteers it has taken to produce the events.

Thank you for supporting the Mount Kisco Chamber of Commerce, our members, and our Village.
