Hopp Ground Garden Club Delivers Love Through Meals on Wheels

Posted

BEDFORD, N.Y. - The Hopp Ground Garden Club and Meals on Wheels recently helped to bring Thanksgiving cheer to Meals on Wheels clients in Bedford, Bedford Hills and Katonah.

Since 1975, the Hopp Ground Garden Club has been working to foster a greater appreciation for nature and engage with the community through various outreach programs. The club recently hosted its annual Thanksgiving Workshop at the Bedford Hills Train Station, where participants channeled their creativity into designing festive floral centerpieces for their own holiday tables. This year, they also made an additional 31 floral arrangements for Meals on Wheels clients which were delivered during Thanksgiving week. The Meals on Wheels program delivers nutritious meals to homebound seniors throughout the year and is offered through a collaboration with the town of Mt. Kisco.

“Flowers are just magic,” explained Vice-President of Hopp Ground and a Meals on Wheels volunteer Lingyun Lou. “Hopp Ground members are proud to help brighten our community with this magic touch!”

James Whiting, Bedford's Supervisor of the Recreation & Parks Department added “Hopp Ground has donated the most lovely bouquets to cheer up the lives of our homebound seniors. It means so much to them to be remembered during the holidays and we truly appreciate the club’s thoughtful contribution.”
