BYSNS Hockey Picks Up Wins Over Mount Pleasant and Pawling

BREWSTER, N.Y. - The combined BYSNS (Brewster/Yorktown/Somers/North Salem) hockey team picked up a pair of big wins as the season kicked into gear. 

BYSNS 7, Mount Pleasant 5

Friday, Dec. 6, Westchester Skating Academy

Trailing 5-3, Brewster/Yorktown/Somers/North Salem (BYSNS) scored four straight goals by Michael Bonelli, AJ Jones (3G, 2A), Ryan Dean, and Jones again, in the third period to defeat Mount Pleasant 7-5.

“We were very resilient,” said BYSNS coach Ryan Langkafel. “We knew we made mistakes that cost us penalties, giving the opportunity to the other team. But our message was to make up for those mistakes, and our players stepped up. We were playing simple and smart hockey down the stretch that ultimately led us to pull out the win.”

Jordan Millar (1G, 2A), James Munoz (3A), Danny Luis (1G, 1A), Jack Lukse (1A), and Patrick Vaughn (26 saves) also contributed to the victory. 

BYSNS 6, Pawling 3

Saturday, Dec. 7, Brewster Ice Arena

Munoz (1G, 3A), Sam Cucinell (2G), Dean (1G), Kaden Krempler (1G), Carter Jacobetz (1G), Lukse (1A), and Vaughn (37 saves) propelled BYSNS to a 6-3 triumph against Pawling. 

Carmel 8, BYSNS 1

Sunday, Dec. 8, Brewster Ice Arena

Lucas Salvatore (1G), Munoz (1A), and Vaughn (33 saves) produced for BYSNS (3-1) in its 8-1 loss to Carmel.
