MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. - A stolen truck containing a bounty of snack foods reported missing from Connecticut on Thursday morning was recovered in Mount Kisco after being tracked by Westchester County police, authorities said.

According to police, at about 7:49 a.m. on Jan. 22, the Westchester County Police Real Time Crime Center issued an alert that a stolen truck was being driven near Preston Way and North Bedford Road. A patrol sergeant soon located the vehicle on Main Street near North Moger Avenue and followed it onto Maple Avenue.

The truck ultimately pulled into the Mount Kisco Community Center parking lot, where the sergeant and a patrol officer took the driver into custody without incident.

Police said the truck had been reported stolen at approximately 5:30 a.m. in Stamford, Connecticut. Inside the vehicle were 147 boxes of potato chips and two cases — totaling 48 containers — of salsa.

The driver, Hugo Lopez-Ramos, 25, of Main Street, was charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the third and fourth degrees, both felonies, as well as Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the third degree, a misdemeanor.

The suspect was arraigned in Mount Kisco Justice Court and remanded to the Westchester County Jail.
