Hispanic culture was honored, celebrated and elevated with music, dance, art, food, and inspirational stories at Mount Kisco’s third annual Hispanic Heritage Festival.

Held on Saturday, Oct. 3, in Fountain Park, the event featured free prizes, dance lessons, games, face painting, performances, giveaways, an interactive history quiz, T-shirts, and information booths manned by various local organizations.

Participating food vendors included Monarca, Azteca, El Rinconcito Chaplin Deli, and Maya Restaurant.

Chair of the fest committee was Angie Garcia-Guerra. Her right-hand person was Lizette Davis.

Students from Mount Kisco Elementary School’s Dual Language Choir sang beautifully.

Providing the audio and music was DJ Hefe (aka Hugo Pasato, a Peekskill resident of Ecuadorian descent).

Three distinct regions of Latin America were represented in music and dance.

Performing were Mariachi Sol Mixteco, Spirits N Motion 3.0, and Sumak Llaki Taka, an Ecuadorian folk dance group.

Vendors and/or sponsors were Rivera Toyota, TD Bank, Northern Westchester Hospital, The Pantry, ShopRite, Becca La Art, Sparkle Clay Boutique, Paint Pot, Mount Kisco Fire Department, Mount Kisco Volunteer Ambulance Corps, the Boys & Girls Club of Northern Westchester, Neighbors Link, For the People and the Kids, ROAMFurther Athletics, and New England Lumber.
