MAHOPAC, N.Y. —The Putnam/Northern Westchester Women’s Resource Center, an anti-domestic violence nonprofit that has served the community for 45 years, will host its annual fundraising gala, “Together as One: A Community of Care and Compassion,” on Friday, May 16, from 6 to 9 p.m. at The Barn at Tilly’s Table in Brewster.

The Mahopac-based PNWWRC’s mission is to advocate, educate, provide, and support services to foster a safer community, eliminate violence against women and children, and promote gender equality. Counting full-time staff and volunteers, about 50 people work for the 501(c)(3) nonprofit, which relies on donations and grants to keep its doors open to an estimated 1,500 women a year.

The gala, according to a press release from the nonprofit, is aimed at uniting community members while raising money to support the PNWWRC’s operations and programming. Those who choose to attend will enjoy food and entertainment, while learning more about the organization’s mission and impact.

This year's honorees include Gemma Grassi, who will receive the Student for Change Award. Joseph Manna will be honored with the Community Impact Award. Jaemie Caban will receive the Guardian Light Award. Briana Rotger will be recognized with the Entrepreneur for Change Award. Joanne DePaola, Marla Behler, and Ann Ellsworth will each receive a Lifetime Achievement Award.

Individual tickets are $150, and tables of 12 are available for $1,800. Sponsorship opportunities are available at pnwwrc.org. Tickets can be purchased on the organization’s website, or by phone by contacting Shan Knapp at 845-628-9284, extension 218. Those unable to attend the gala in person are encouraged to make donations at the organization’s website.
