Wolf Pac girls edge Scarsdale for first win, fall to Somers, Yorktown

 MAHOPAC, N.Y. — Mahopac High School’s girls lacrosse team picked up its first win of the season last week, edging Scarsdale, 14-13, in a game played Thursday, April 24, at Scarsdale.

Gianna Cirelli led the Wolf Pac with four goals. Erin Harney and Ashley Koch each recorded hat tricks, Gianna DeVito added two goals, and Bella Gangemi scored once. Keeper Amanda Carey stopped eight shots for Mahopac (1-8).

Mahopac traveled to Somers on Saturday, April 26, and dropped a 16-7 decision to the Tuskers.

Koch again led the Pac with a hat trick, Harney scored twice, DeVito and Monika Gosniowski each added a goal, and Carey finished with five saves.

Earlier in the week, on Tuesday, April 22, Mahopac opened with a 19-8 loss at home against Yorktown.

Harney had a hat trick and an assist, DeVito and Koch each tallied a goal and an assist, Gangemi scored twice, and Cirelli added a goal. Carey made seven saves in net, and Emma Aguila recorded four saves.

The Wolf Pac girls are scheduled to travel to face Lakeland/Panas on Thursday, May 2, and host Briarcliff on Sunday, May 5, for Senior Night.
