The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office joined more than 250 law enforcement officers from across the region on Friday, Jan. 30, as part of a coordinated, multi-agency enforcement initiative aimed at addressing priority crimes affecting local communities.
The intelligence-driven operation involved agencies from Westchester County police departments, the New York City Police Department, the FBI, and the New York State Police. Law enforcement officials used Real Time Crime Center resources to communicate through a unified channel, allowing agencies to coordinate enforcement efforts across jurisdictional boundaries.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, deputies and investigators carried out proactive enforcement throughout Putnam County during the operation. Their efforts resulted in arrests related to narcotic offenses, assistance to partner agencies during an active vehicle pursuit, multiple attempts to serve outstanding warrants, and targeted traffic enforcement.
Sheriff Brian Hess said the operation demonstrated the effectiveness of interagency cooperation and real-time information sharing.
“When agencies are able to share intelligence and communicate seamlessly, it makes our communities safer and our officers more effective,” Hess said. “This operation is a strong example of what can be achieved when law enforcement works together toward a common goal.”
Hess also credited deputies and investigators for their work during the large-scale effort.
“Our personnel performed exceptionally under challenging conditions,” he said. “Their professionalism and commitment to protecting the residents of Putnam County were on full display.”
The Sheriff’s Office also acknowledged the assistance of its law enforcement partners, noting that continued collaboration remains a key component of crime prevention and public safety efforts across the region.
