September is library card signup month

September is library card sign-up month (though, in fairness, you can get a library card during the other 11 months too), and Mahopac Library staffers are inviting everyone to come on down and sign up. In a recent Facebook post, Cindy Green, Simona Torregrossa and Amanda Stalcup gave a nod to Arthur’s “Library Card Song”: “Having fun isn’t hard when you’ve got a library card!”

Library cards are powerful tools, giving you access to books, music, videos and games—not only at Mahopac Library but also from other members of the Mid-Hudson Library System, in person and online. (Online library resources Libby and Hoopla are favorite apps here at Mahopac News HQ.)

To get a card, stop by the library’s front desk to apply. Mahopac Central School District residents can also apply online: mahopaclibrary.org/get-a-library-card.—Emile Menasché
