Carmel, N.Y.—Mahopac residents won't have to travel far to vote early in this year's general election. Putnam County Golf Course (187 Hill Street in Mahopac) has been designated as one of Putnam's three early voting sites this fall. The other two are:

Putnam County Board of Elections: 25 Old Route 6, Carmel, N.Y. 10512

North Highlands Fire Dept.: 504 Fishkill Road, Cold Spring, N.Y. 10516

There will be nine days when registered voters will be able to cast their ballot before Election Day (Tuesday, Nov. 5). If you are a registered voter in Putnam County, you may vote at any of the three sites during the early voting times listed below:

  • Saturday, Oct. 26: 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

  • Sunday, Oct. 27: 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

  • Monday, Oct. 28: 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

  • Tuesday, Oct. 29: noon- 8 p.m.

  • Wednesday, Oct. 30: 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

  • Thursday, Oct. 31: noon- 8 p.m.

  • Saturday, Nov. 2: 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

Note that if you cast a ballot during early voting, you are then not eligible to vote on Election Day. The results from early voting will be reported after 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5.

Poll sites are accessible to voters with physical disabilities. Voting by an absentee ballot is an additional option.
