Mahopac Library's November Calendar Includes Music, Author Visits and More

MAHOPAC, N.Y.—Mahopac Library’s November calendar kicks off with an author event, followed by an art series, a movie screening, and more. For more information about the events below and to see what else is on the calendar, visit mahopaclibrary.org/events.

Friday, Nov. 1, 4:30 p.m.: Author Event with Daniel Fliederbaum. Engage with local author Daniel Fliederbaum as they discuss their exciting dragon fantasy novel “Smash The World's Shell,” followed by a signing. Register online at www.mahopaclibrary.org or call (845) 628-2009 ext.115.

Saturday, Nov. 2, 1 p.m.: Sounds of Sinatra. Join Tony T. Entertainment as they play your favorite Frank Sinatra classics during their live performance of “Sounds of Sinatra.”Register online at www.mahopaclibrary.org or call (845) 628-2009 ext.100.

Tuesday, Nov. 5, 1 p.m.: Mid-Day Matinee: “Arthur the King”. Follow the story of pro adventure racer Michael, and his unlikely bond with Arthur, a street dog, as they race for first place during the Adventure Racing World Championship. Rated PG-13. Thursday, Nov. 7, 4:30 p.m.: Teen Art Series: Create your own Children’s Book. What better way to celebrate National Novel Writing Month, than by writing and illustrating a book of your own? Teens will spend three weeks plotting, writing and illustrating their books! Each week, the room will be open to teens working on their projects and when all pieces are done, we will be holding a small exhibit to show off their work! Teens will learn to be creative using only the things they have in front of them, while also learning new crafting techniques. Friday, Nov. 8, 4:30 p.m.: Author Event with Ryan McCauley. Engage with local author and Mahopac High School Alumnus, Ryan McCauley as he discusses his exciting sci-fi adventure novel, “Awakening” (Realm of Radiance book 1), followed by a signing with the author. Saturday, Nov. 9, 10 a.m.: “Microplastic Madness”: Movie Screening and Sustainability Panel Discussion. Join us for a movie screening of “Microplastic Madness” followed by a panel conversation with experts hosted by sustainability advocate Tonia Torrellas. Friday, Nov. 15, 6 p.m.: Trivia Night. Join Sean McGrath from Hudson Valley Trivia for an exciting night of bingo trivia. Test your knowledge during four different rounds of bingo trivia covering a wide variety of topics. Monday, Nov. 18, 6:30 p.m.: Excel Series. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a high-demand skill in the job market. This series will take you from getting to know the layout of Excel to creating PivotTables! The class will meet on Mondays for four weeks. Tuesday, Nov. 19, 6:30 p.m.: Mail Merge with Microsoft Word. Mail merge lets you create a batch of documents that are personalized for each recipient. For example, a form letter might be personalized to address each recipient by name using information stored in a list, database, or spreadsheet. Mail merge can make it quick and easy to create personalized letters for potential customers, make labels for mass mailings, and more. Thursday, Nov. 21. 6 p.m.: Putnam Division Railroad Through Carmel. Ever wonder what the trains looked like on today's Putnam Trailway? Join Carmel Historical Society Vice President and lifelong railroad enthusiast, Brian Vangor, as he takes a detailed look at the Putnam Division Railroad.
