YORKTOWN, N.Y, - On Tuesday, April 8, members of the Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department (MFVFD) Dive Team took to the pool at Yorktown Middle School for a vital training session. With summer fast approaching, lakes and waterways will soon be filled with swimmers, boaters, and families enjoying the warmer weather, and that means the dive team must be ready for anything.
The pool drills are more than just practice—they ensure the team stays sharp, responsive, and fully prepared for water rescues and emergencies.
“Training in a controlled environment like the YMS pool allows our divers to refine their techniques, test equipment, and strengthen coordination as a unit,” the MFVFD Dive Team said in a statement.
The team gave thanks to Yorktown Central School District for opening its facility and supporting regional first responders.
