MAHOPAC, N.Y.—The Carmel Town Board is officially back to its full size after special election-winner Michael Lugo was sworn in by Town Justice Daniel Miller at Carmel Town Hall on Dec. 4.
Lugo, a Republican, ran unopposed for the seat vacated by former Town of Carmel GOP Chair Stephen Baranowski, who resigned at the end of last year. He was joined by his wife Jacklyn and son Kash and was able to vote on that night’s agenda items.
“I am excited to be able to work for the people of Carmel,” Lugo said later. “My first meeting went smooth and I was comfortable being up on that dais. I truly believe that if we work together as a team during my time there, lots can be accomplished.”
