MAHOPAC, N.Y.—Mahopac Central School District has welcomed back Melody LaRocca as district clerk and confidential secretary to the superintendent and Board of Education. LaRocca, who officially came back Sept. 29, had been at MCSD since 2017 but left at the end of the 2024–25 school year to work in another district before returning to Mahopac this fall. The position had remained open during her absence.
In a Facebook post announcing her return, Interim Superintendent Frank Miele said LaRocca’s attention to detail and understanding of district operations allow him “to focus on what matters most, being out in our schools, connecting with students and staff.”
In the post, LaRocca called it an honor “to serve the board, the superintendent, our students, and this gem of a community” and later told Mahopac News what it means to return.
“My time away gave me a valuable perspective,” she said, “and I’m excited to bring that experience back to contribute in a meaningful way.”
