Organizers of the Mahopac St. Patrick’s Parade are reminding spectators to respect local businesses and private property when the annual celebration steps off at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 8 along Route 6 from Mount Hope Road (by CVS) to the Lake Plaza Shopping Center (Stop & Shop).

In a message to the community, parade officials asked attendees to help keep the area clean by using large orange garbage bags that will be placed along the parade route. Spectators are encouraged to clean up their viewing areas after the parade.

Officials also announced several portable restroom locations that will be available to the public along the route. The restrooms will be located at:

  • Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home, 692 Route 6

  • V & R Tacos & Deli, 716 Route 6

  • Barile Building, 888 Route 6

  • Michael Geary Memorial Rink, 740 Route 6

  • Lake Plaza Shopping Center, 1001 Route 6

  • Mahopac Railroad Tie, 911 Route 6

Parade organizers also advised motorists that the parade route will be closed to vehicular traffic for approximately 30 minutes after the parade ends, or until police reopen the roadway to allow pedestrians to safely exit the area.

The annual parade typically draws large crowds and organizers thanked residents and visitors in advance for their cooperation in helping make the event safe and enjoyable for everyone.
