Anna Park, a high school student from New Jersey, is the founder of Down to Work, a nonprofit that is transforming the disability employment landscape by helping over 10,000 individuals with Down syndrome find meaningful work. What began as a tribute to her late brother has evolved into a nationally recognized initiative that empowers people with disabilities through job readiness training, advocacy, and inclusive opportunities.

Established when Park was just 14 years old, Down to Work offers a comprehensive suite of support services, including free resume and interview coaching, certification workshops led by public school educators, and a digital job-matching platform that connects inclusive employers with disabled candidates. Numerous public school teachers and tutors volunteer through Down to Work, providing mentorship, guidance, and personalized support to ensure that individuals with disabilities are fully prepared to succeed in the workforce. The organization also features an online gallery to showcase the creative work of individuals with disabilities, allowing participants to express themselves and receive commissions. Over 15 businesses partner with Down to Work to provide direct employment opportunities. The nonprofit now has over 100 active volunteers, many of whom initially lacked experience but have grown into passionate advocates through their involvement.

Park shares, “People with Down syndrome can’t thrive on pity; they need real opportunities to live independently and prove their true potential.” Down to Work continues to expand its reach throughout New Jersey and across the country, offering both virtual and in-person support. The organization welcomes volunteers, donors, and partners who are committed to building a more inclusive and equitable workforce.
