BREWSTER, N.Y. — Putnam Community Action Partnership (CAP) will hold its annual School Supply Program distribution on Aug. 19 and 20, providing low-income Putnam County families with new backpacks and gift cards to purchase needed supplies. Families interested in participating should contact the Putnam CAP office at 845-278-8021 to register.
Putnam CAP is once again calling on the community to support the program, which helps ensure that local youth have the tools they need for academic success. Donations of $25 gift cards to stores such as Staples, Walmart and Target, as well as new backpacks, are being accepted.
Items can be dropped off at the CAP office at 121 Main St. in Brewster now through Aug. 13. Those who prefer not to shop can donate online at putnamcap.org.
One hundred percent of the funding for this program comes from donations. Community support is critical to helping Putnam CAP continue to serve local students.
In addition to the school supply drive, Putnam CAP supports low-income individuals and families throughout Putnam County with a variety of services, including emergency food, housing assistance, intervention and more. The agency relies heavily on community donations and volunteers to meet growing local needs. For more information or to get involved, visit putnamcap.org or call 845-278-8021.
