Owners of a popular local eatery have been left to pick up the pieces after a two-car accident sent one of the vehicles crashing through its front door.
Mahopac Volunteer Fire Dept. reported that crews responded with Carmel Police Department and Carmel Volunteer Ambulance Corps on Tuesday, Dec. 9, at about 9 p.m. for a two-car MVA on Route 6 at South Lake Blvd. One vehicle struck the building at Crossroads Deli. One person was transported for medical evaluation.
Meanwhile, the owners of Crossroads are shoring up and getting ready to rebuild. On Facebook, Denise Russell posted about the most immediate need:
"Ok folks if anyone has some plywood and maybe some hammer. Crossroads Deli & Catering was hit by a car. We need a little help," Russell posted. "Please and thank you."
